JAMB has acknowledged that the mass failure in the 2025 UTME was due to a system error identified during mock exams. The error involved issues with question shuffling, omissions, and incorrect grading. A patch was developed but not properly installed by some service providers, leading to incomplete submission of candidates' answers. This affected 206,610 candidates in Lagos and 173,387 in the South East and Oyo. JAMB is apologizing for their negligence and will conduct retake exams from May 16th.
