The Benin Zonal Directorate of the EFCC has successfully prosecuted and convicted 32 internet fraudsters in the Edo State High Courts, Benin City. The convicts faced charges related to obtaining by false pretence, advance fee fraud, retention of proceeds of crime, and possession of fraudulent documents. They were sentenced to imprisonment with options of fines, and ordered to forfeit assets acquired through their illicit activities.
