SpaceX has been awarded an $81.6 million contract by the U.S. Space Force for the USSF-178 mission, which includes launching advanced weather satellites to enhance global weather sensing capabilities. The mission, scheduled for the first half of Fiscal Year 2027, will feature the Weather System Follow-on Microwave Space Vehicle 2 and BLAZE-2 small satellites.
